Manchester United and Real Madrid linked Lucas Biglia’s agent has remained coy over his client’s future at Lazio.

The Argentine midfielder is generating keen interest from clubs across Europe after he helped Lazio to qualify for the Champions League last season.

The 29-year-old is believed to be courted by some of the top clubs and there is speculation that Manchester United and Real Madrid have been keeping any eye on him, with both being rumoured to be preparing bids this summer.

Lazio are aware of the interest in their experienced midfielder and are desperate to keep hold of the player ahead of a crucial season, where they will be competing in the Champions League.

To ward off interest from his potential suitors, Lazio are rumoured to be preparing a new five-year deal worth €2.2m per season.

However, when asked about the proposed contract, Biglia’s agent remained non-committal but confirmed that he will soon talk to the Lazio hierarchy about his client’s future.

Speaking to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Enzo Montepaone said: “Soon I will be in Italy to speak to [Lazio president Claudio] Lotito.

“I am not giving too much space to the rumours [of a new contract until 2020].

“I will shortly speak with the club’s leadership and then we will see.”

Biglia’s current contract runs until the summer of 2018.
