Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas’ agent has confirmed that his client is interested in joining FC Porto this summer, something which will add fuel to the fire of talk David de Gea joining Los Blancos is simply a matter of time.

Earlier today it emerged that the 34-year-old is closing in on a shock move to Portuguese giants FC Porto and it has been speculated that Real Madrid have accepted a bid for him.

While he refused to confirm that a deal is already in place, the player’s agent admitted that Porto are interested in his client, while their interest is reciprocated.

Speaking to Portuguese sports daily Record, Carlo Cutropia confirmed the negotiations and said: “Iker is interested in FC Porto and FC Porto are interested in Iker.”

Casillas is said to be considering his future at the club as Real Madrid are actively pursuing the signature of De Gea, who is expected to usurp his senior compatriot as their number one should he arrive at the Bernabeu this summer.

Real Madrid are also speculated to be ready to compensate the 34-year-old financially should he join Porto as he won’t be able to command the wages that he receives in the Spanish capital in Portugal.

With his agent confirming the negotiations with Porto, Casillas’ 25-year long association with Real Madrid could come to an end this summer.
