New Tottenham Hotspur signing Kevin Wimmer has expressed his delight at joining the north London outfit.

The Austrian, who was confirmed as Spurs’ first summer signing in May, started pre-season training with his new club after completing his medical formalities today.




He expressed his delight at joining the north London club, which he admitted is a “dream” for him.

“It was always a dream for me to play for a club like this and to play in the Premier League”, he said to his new club’s official website.
 


The Austrian international is looking forward to playing for his new club in the upcoming season, and talked up the facilities at Hotspur Way, Spurs’ training centre.

“Now I’m here, to start training at such an amazing training centre, it’s a very good feeling. For a footballer, it can’t be better.

“I’m really looking forward to the season because I’m enjoying it already on my first day”, the 22-year-old added.

Wimmer played three seasons at Bundesliga club 1.FC Koln before making the move to the Premier League. He played 34 times for the Billy Goats last season.

The defender is one of only two signings made by Tottenham in the close season so far, the other being Kieran Trippier who was signed from Burnley last month.
