Sporting Lisbon coach Jorge Jesus has dealt a blow to any hopes Arsenal and Manchester United might have had of signing Portugal midfielder William Carvalho this summer.

The highly rated young midfielder has regularly been linked with the English pair over the course of the last 12 months, while of late Monaco were also added to the list of William's suitors.

But Jesus does not want to lose William and sees him as a key man in his push to win the Portuguese Primeira Liga title next season with regular game time guaranteed.

Jesus was quoted as saying by Maxifoot: "William has great value.

"He will grow here together with the team", the Portuguese coach continued.
