Barcelona presidential candidate Agusti Benedito has revealed that he has been in touch with Marco Verratti’s agent Donato Di Campli with a view to bringing the Italian to the Camp Nou in the future.

The Catalan giants have announced the signing of Arda Turan on a five-year deal from Atletico Madrid and have also been linked with a slew of midfielders including Paul Pogba and Koke along with Verratti.

And Benedito has confirmed talking to Di Campli, who has indicated the availability of the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.

“We've talked to his representative who indicated his availability”, Benedito was quoted as saying by Spanish daily Marca.

He further revealed that the negotiations haven’t begun for the highly-rated Italy international, but there is “good understanding” between the two parties.

Another Barcelona presidential candidate, Toni Freixa, had also recently met with Di Campli to discuss the possibility of bringing the Italian to the Camp Nou.
