Dundee United have confirmed they have accepted an undisclosed fee from Celtic for their coveted forward Nadir Ciftci and have given Hoops the permission to talk to him.

Ronny Deila has been keen on adding Ciftci to his ranks this summer as he prepares his team for the 2015/16 campaign.

The interest between the Dundee United marksman and the Hoops has been mutual as the striker has refused an offer from English League One side Wigan Athletic and has also spurned advances from Middlesbrough.

Deila is now close to getting his man after the Terrors gave the permission to the Hoops to talk to the 23-year-old.

A statement released by the Tannadice Park outfit confirmed the news.

“Dundee United today confirmed that an undisclosed fee had been agreed with Celtic for Nadir Ciftci and permission has been granted for the Glasgow club to speak to the player.”

Ciftci scored 16 goals in all competitions to help Dundee United to a fifth placed league finish and earn the admiration of the Celtic’s Norwegian boss.

After the acquisitions of Dedryck Boyata from Manchester City and Saidy Janko from Manchester United, Ciftci is all set to become Celtic’s third signing of the summer.
