Ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has taken to social media to shower praise on Lazio midfielder Ravel Morrison.

Redknapp, who was Morrison’s manager when the youngster was on loan at Queens Park Rangers, views the 22-year-old in a positive light and has talked up his qualities, insisting he can play for England.

Morrison joined Lazio after his contract at West Ham United was terminated in February, but has reportedly been unsettled at his new club. He will hope Redknapp’s words will make other clubs take notice of his exploits in Italy ahead of a potential return home.

“Anyone looking for a top player this summer should look at Ravel Morrison. Top talent, decent lad, not hard to manage. Can play for England”, Redknapp posted on Twitter.

The Manchester United academy product joined West Ham in 2012, and had three separate loan spells, at Birmingham City, Queens Park Rangers and Cardiff City while being under contract with the Hammers.

Morrison played 17 matches at QPR for Redknapp, which was his most productive spell of his career as he scored six goals for the Hoops in a short loan spell.

And 68-year-old Redknapp believes the youngster can be a great asset if he manages to combine his abilities with his attitude.

“Ravel was good in training and had a great attitude when I worked with him.

"Glides when he has the ball, just hope he puts it all together”, he added.
