Manchester United are set to take a decisive step in their pursuit of Torino full-back Matteo Darmian.

After seeing their first bid rejected by Torino, the English giants have continued to make progress in their chase for the Arsenal and Napoli linked full-back and are ready to slap in their next offer for the 25-year-old.

It has been claimed that Manchester United made fresh contact with the Torino hierarchy last night and have held positive talks with the Italian club.

According to Sky Italia, Torino are asking for a fee of around €18m plus €2m in add-ons and the Red Devils are seem to be willing to adhere to their demands.

Torino are expecting a final answer from Manchester United by the end of the day and if it is favourable, Darmian could be on his way to Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United are said to have already agreed personal terms with the player and are keen to close out the deal for Darmian in the next few days.

The Italian international has also been linked with a move to Bayern Munich but it may be that Manchester United are the ones who are finally going to seal the signature for the full-back.

He has earned 13 caps for the Azzurri and still has two years left on his contract with Torino.
