Liverpool’s new signing James Milner is delighted to have signed for the Merseyside giants, saying that it is an “amazing feeling” to pull on a Reds’ shirt.

Milner has arrived from Manchester City after his contract with the Citizens ended at the end of the last month. The England international has been handed the number 7 shirt, which was previously worn by Luis Suarez.

The midfielder is among a slew of new signings, which include Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez, Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne, that have arrived at Anfield this summer as Liverpool attempt to qualify for the Champions League next season, after finishing in sixth last term.

And Milner is delighted to become part of the Merseyside giants.

“It's an amazing feeling”, he told his club’s site in an interview.

“To sign for a club as big as Liverpool with the history they've got and the place it is – I'm just ready to get started I suppose.

“It's great to be here; over the summer you're thinking about it and wanting to get going once the decision has been made so it's great to come here.”

Milner spent five seasons at the Etihad Stadium after he joined Manchester City in the summer of 2010 from Aston Villa and through the course of his time at the club, he won two league titles.
