Juventus CEO Guiseppe Marotta has labelled the reported transfer of midfielder Arturo Vidal to Real Madrid “just rumours.”

Real Madrid are reportedly in for the Chile international as new boss Rafael Benitez attempts to bolster his side for the coming season after they ended the last campaign without major silverware under Carlo Ancelotti.

Vidal has been linked with several clubs this summer and Real Madrid were reported to have an agreement to tie him to a five-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, Marotta has labelled the reports “just rumours”, further adding that the transfer of the midfielder to Benitez’s side is “unrealistic.”

“They are just rumours”, he was quoted as saying by Madrid-based daily AS.
