Liverpool linked French striker Alexandre Lacazette’s future at Lyon is far from certain.

With 27 goals in 33 Ligue 1 games last season, the forward was the standout performer for Lyon and played a key role in dragging them to a second place finish behind Paris Saint-Germain.

His performances in the French top flight have earned high praise, but have also attracted the attention of some top European clubs, including the English duo of Arsenal and Liverpool.

With their financial restrictions lifted, PSG are also believed to be keen to land the Frenchman this summer and Bayern Munich are also claimed to have enquired about him towards the end of last season.

Lyon have been trying to agree a new contract with Lacazette’s representatives but according to French sports daily L’Equipe, his future at the club is still uncertain.

With interest in him growing, Lyon are aware that they are going to struggle to keep him at the Stade Gerland, but the club are ready to fight to keep hold of Lacazette, at least for next season.

Lyon and the player’s representatives have been in discussion over terms of a new contract, but they have so far failed to find middle ground.

Lacazette’s current deal with Lyon runs until the summer of 2018.
