Atletico Madrid have confirmed the signing of Argentine striker Luciano Vietto, signing the player from Villarreal.

Vietto was in fine form for the Yellow Submarine last season and was linked with a number of clubs, including Liverpool, who his agent claimed he could sign for if he wished.

But the striker's future is at the Vicente Calderon and he will train with his new team-mates for the first time tomorrow, Atletico Madrid have confirmed.

The finishing administrative touches will be put to the deal tomorrow and then Vietto will sign a contract running until the summer of 2021 with Diego Simeone's men.

Villarreal only captured Vietto last summer and he instantly took to Spanish football in his first season in Europe.
