Paris Saint-Germain are putting together a big-money bid for Manchester United winger Angel di Maria, free of UEFA's financial fair play restrictions.

The wealthy French champions were scuppered from signing Di Maria from Real Madrid last summer due to UEFA's restrictions, but are now aiming to make good on capturing the Argentina winger.

According to French radio station RMC, PSG are putting together a bid which would comprise a fee of €50m plus full-back Gregory van der Wiel, a player who has been of interest to Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

Van der Wiel's agent Mino Raiola held talks with Manchester United officials in recent days, though it is unclear whether the full-back was discussed.

Something which may also complicate matters for PSG is that Manchester United appear now to have moved on from their interest in Van der Wiel.

The Red Devils are in advanced talks to sign Matteo Darmian from Torino, which would hand Van Gaal the new right-back he craves.

Di Maria had his heart set on moving to PSG last summer and is thought to still be keen on joining up with the French champions this year.

However, there is no sign of the Argentine pushing for a move, nor of Manchester United preparing to sell him.
