West Ham have reached an agreement with Juventus for the signature of defender Angelo Ogbonna.

Everton were also in the race for the Juventus defender but the Hammers took a decisive lead in the chase when they met the player’s agent yesterday.




Ogbonna was expected to make a decision on his future today and it has been claimed that the defender has opted to move to Upton Park this summer.

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, the Hammers have beaten competition from Everton for the signature of the Juventus centre half this summer.
 


The east London club have agreed to pay a fee of around €11m to the Bianconeri for the transfer of the 27-year-old Italian defender.

Ogbonna will be hoping to secure regular first team football for the Hammers and is expected to add much needed experience to Slaven Bilic’s defence next season.

The defender joined Juventus from Torino in 2013 and has made 55 appearances for the club but was a bit part player last season under Massimiliano Allegri.

He has secured two Italian league titles, a Supercoppa Italiana and a Coppa Italia with the Bianconeri.
