Former Inter defender Paolo Tramezzani says that he would not be surprised if Xherdan Shaqiri left the club this summer, with the Swiss international having failed to give the Nerazzurri the spark it was thought he would when he arrived.

Inter have accepted a bid for Shaqiri from Premier League side Stoke City, but the former Bayern Munich winger is dragging his heels over a switch to the Britannia Stadium.

Shaqiri only joined Inter in the winter transfer window this year from Bayern Munich and for Tramezzani he did not have the desired impact.

And as a result the 44-year-old would not be surprised to see the winger leave.

"It wouldn't surprise me if he said farewell", Tramezzani told Italian outlet IlSussidiario.net.

"The Swiss is a player who did not give a boost to the Nerazzurri in January", he added.

Shaqiri, who shone at last summer's World Cup with Switzerland, has made a total of 20 appearances in all competitions since signing for Inter, scoring three goals and providing his team-mates with two assists.

The 23-year-old is under contract at the San Siro until 2019.
