Lyon forward and Arsenal target Nabil Fekir has extended his contract with the French outfit until the summer of 2020.

Fekir was reportedly targeted by Arsenal and he was also linked with Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan. But the striker has decided to stay put at the Stade de Gerland after committing his future to Les Gones.

Last season, he returned figures of 15 goals and 13 assists from his 39 appearances across all competitions to help Lyon to a second place league finish. For his stellar displays in the past season, the youngster was named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year.

The 21-year-old has thanked the club president and his agent on the latest development, adding that Lyon are close to his heart.

"I want to thank the president and my agent who have made every effort so that I prolonged my contract”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.
