Arsenal defensive target Daniele Rugani is not expected to leave Juventus this summer.

The Italian Under-21 defender was impressive for Empoli during his loan spell last season and caught the attention of some top clubs across Europe.

Arsenal are interested in the player and already had a bid rejected by the Bianconeri for Rugani, but they are still believed to be keen.

With Angelo Ogbonna on his way to West Ham, Juventus are in no mood to sell any more defenders this summer and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Rugani is expected to play a key role for the club next season.

While Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini are expected to remain the club’s first choice defenders, Rugani is considered as the rock on which Juventus’ future defence will be based upon.

And therefore the club are expected to knock back any offers for the centre back this summer as they are keen to provide him more opportunities to settle down in the first team next season.

Rugani has been a regular for Italy at youth level and though he is yet to make his senior debut, he was called up to Antonio Conte’s squad last year.

He has a contract until 2019 with Juventus.
