Lazio have re-established contact with Liverpool as they seek to push through a deal for Fabio Borini.

The Italian forward has been left out of Liverpool's pre-season tour of Asia and Australia and has been tipped to be on his way out of Anfield this summer.

He is wanted by a number of clubs, but Lazio are leading the chase for the former Roma forward and according to Italian daily Il Messaggero, they have re-established contact with Liverpool over Borini.

Lazio want to quickly do a deal for Borini as they look to add him to coach Stefano Pioli's squad at the Stadio Olimpico.

Borini was snapped up by Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers from Italian outfit Roma in 2012, but has struggled to make his mark.
