Southampton are closing in on an agreement with Feyenoord to sign midfielder Jordy Clasie, who will act as a replacement for Morgan Schneiderlin.

Today the Saints sold Schneiderlin to Manchester United with the French midfielder penning a four-year deal with the Red Devils.

The departure of Schneiderlin from Southampton has been on the cards for some time and Ronald Koeman's men are well down the road to signing a successor.

According to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, Southampton have been locked in talks with Feyenoord over signing Clasie today and the picture regarding an agreement is expected to become clearer tomorrow.

The two parties are said to be rapidly closing on an agreement which would take the 24-year-old to St. Mary's.
