QPR striker Charlie Austin is heading to link up with Steve McClaren's Newcastle United, it has been claimed.

Austin, who impressed in the Premier League with the R's last term despite his side being relegated to the Championship, has been tipped to join the Magpies this summer.




And according to agent Muzzi Ozcan, the England international is on his way to St. James' Park.

Ozcan took to Twitter to write: "Wish a successful career at his new team (Charlie Austin)."
 

 

The agent then later clarified who he believes Austin is joining by adding: "Newcastle – Charlie Austin.". Ozcan then later deleted his tweet, but not before it was picked up by several fans.

The 26-year-old scored 18 goals in the Premier League for QPR last season, stepping up from the Championship, in which he had managed 17 goals the season prior, with ease.

Austin is now set to continue his Premier League adventure under former FC Twente boss McClaren at Newcastle and will be backed to fire the Magpies up the table.

He will also hope his chances of making England's Euro 2016 squad will receive a boost with the switch.
