Rangers manager Mark Warburton is looking forward to his first taste of Ibrox in the Gers’ upcoming friendly against Burnley.

The Gers will face Sean Dyche’s Burnley, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, on Tuesday the 21st of July.




And manager Warburton is looking forward to his first experience of Rangers’ home ground in the friendly encounter.

“It’s a magnificent stadium and I’m very much looking forward to it”, he said to his club’s official website after their 2-0 win over Ayr United in a pre-season friendly at Murray Park.
 


The former Brentford manager has talked up Burnley as a “very stern” test for his side, as he says the English club will arrive with their full squad for the game. He feels the Clarets will relish their trip to Ibrox.

“It will be a very stern test for us – I spoke to Shaun [Dyche] today and he assured me they will be bringing a full squad, so it will be a very tough test for us.

“They were a Premier League team last year and they will relish coming to Ibrox.”

He believes the game will be part of his side’s learning curve, as they try to settle in under his new methods at the club.

“We look forward to it and again it will be a part of our learning curve”, Warburton added.

Warburton was appointed as the new manager at Ibrox last month after impressing with English club Brentford last season, taking them to the Championship promotion playoffs. He is assisted by ex-Ger David Weir.
