New Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has saluted the travelling Kop in his side's friendly win over Brisbane Roar today.

Brendan Rodgers' men slipped behind at the Suncorp Stadium, but recovered to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Adam Lallana and James Milner.

Gomez was named in the starting eleven by Rodgers and relished the chance to play in a stadium packed full of Liverpool fans with songs and chants hanging in the Australian evening air.

The defender, who signed from Charlton Athletic earlier this summer, clocked up 62 minutes, before he was then replaced by Joe Maguire.

And he has been quick to pay tribute to Liverpool's following at the match.
