West Ham United youngster Nathan Mavila has talked up his manager Slaven Bilic’s approach and impact at the Upton Park club.

Mavila, who is training with the first team squad in the Hammers’ pre-season camp in Ireland, has praised his manager’s attention to detail both in training and during games, which he feels is helpful to the youngsters at the club.

“I think the new manager has been excellent so far”, said the 19-year old to his club’s official website.

“He’s knows everyone’s names already, the youngsters, everyone. I think that is very important.”

He has also talked up Bilic and his backroom staff at the club, and praised their efforts to take care of the players’ needs individually.

“He always takes the time to talk to everyone individually about how to improve their game. A few of his staff came to watch the game yesterday, so it’s very good.”

The youngster believes the appointment of Bilic has given all the players at West Ham an opportunity to impress and make a push for the first team.

“A new manager coming in gives everyone an opportunity.

“It gives everyone a chance to impress”, he added.

Mavila, who spent the second half of last season on loan at non-league club Wealdstone, joined the Hammers from Wycombe Wanderers as a 16-year-old in 2012.
