Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm admits that he is unsure about Manchester United target Thomas Muller’s future in Bavaria.

Manchester United are said to be desperate to take the Germany international to England this summer and are prepared to break the bank to do so.

Louis van Gaal is looking to add a big name forward to his current squad and has reportedly sanctioned a €100m bid for Bayern Munich’s Muller.

Following the departure of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Bayern Munich insisted that they won’t allow Manchester United to get hold of any of their other players.

However, Lahm refused to provide any guarantees on Muller’s future at the club and said that in football anything is possible when the transfer window is open.

When asked about Muller’s future at the club, the Bayern Munich captain was quoted as saying by German broadcaster Sport1: "That is not my decision.

“In football everything happens so quickly, therefore, you can never issue a guarantee.

“And that is why I cannot give guarantees on behalf of Thomas Muller.”

While a figure such as €100m has given Bayern Munich some food for thought, the club are expected to reject the offer as they are said to be determined about holding on to Muller.

The 25-year-old World Cup winner is a crucial member of Pep Guardiola’s squad and if Manchester United could pull off the deal, it could be termed the transfer coup of the season.
