Manchester City target and Brazilian full-back Fabinho will not be leaving AS Monaco this summer.

The 21-year-old Brazilian international has been linked with a move to England this summer, with both Manchester United and Manchester City reported to be interested in his services.

However, the Citizens were favourites to land the right-back and have been talks with the Ligue 1 side for weeks to reach an agreement over a fee for Fabinho.

A transfer fee of around €25m was also touted and the English giants were confident of getting a deal done for the Monaco right-back.

However, things have taken a dramatic turn and according to France Football, Fabinho will play his football at Monaco for at least one more season.

The Ligue 1 side have changed their mind about selling the 21-year-old and have decided to hold on to him for at least the 2015/16 campaign.

With Champions League football also on offer next season, Monaco feel Fabinho could play an important role in their quest to make their mark both in France and in Europe.

Fabinho has earned two caps for Brazil and has a contract with Monaco until the summer of 2019.
