Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has welcomed the imminent arrival of Filipe Luis to the Vicente Calderon, terming his proposed return “good news.”

Luis had a four-year stint with Los Rojiblancos from 2010 – when he arrived from Deportivo La Coruna – until the summer of 2014.

He joined Chelsea last summer, but struggled for regular first team action, with manager Jose Mourinho preferring Cesar Azpilicueta as his first choice left-back ahead of Luis.

The Brazil international was reduced to a mere nine league starts, prompting his desire to move back to the Vicente Calderon under Los Rojiblancos’ boss Diego Simeone in search of regular playing time.

Griezmann, who joined Atletico Madrid last summer from Real Sociedad and grabbed 22 La Liga goals in his inaugural season in the Spanish capital, has welcomed the imminent arrival of Luis and feels that his addition will be good for the club.
