Sporting Lisbon have set their asking price for midfielder William Carvalho after they were contacted by Paris Saint-Germain about a potential deal.

Portugal international William has a release clause in his contract set at the €45m mark and though Sporting Lisbon are prepared to be flexible on the makeup of the deal, they want any transfer to have the potential to hit the clause mark.

According to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, Sporting Lisbon have told PSG that they would accept an initial fee of €35m, plus a further €10m to come in bonus payments, to part with William.

The ball is now in PSG's court over making good on their interest with an official bid.

It remains to be seen whether Sporting Lisbon's softening of their stance combined with PSG's interest jolts any of William's other suitors into action.
