Fiorentina have increased their offer for Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches and are hopeful of sealing a deal for the Romanian by Tuesday.

Chiriches has been requested by La Viola coach Paulo Sousa, who is keen to make use of his services in the forthcoming campaign.

It had been thought Fiorentina had done enough to gain an agreement with Spurs after putting an offer of €1m to loan Chiriches for the season, plus €5m to come to make the move permanent, on the table.

But they have now been forced to raise their offer for the defender.

According to Sky Italia, the bid on the table from Fiorentina is now €1.5m to take Chiriches on loan for the season, with a further €5.5m should they choose to make the move permanent.
