Juventus are eager to close the purchase of Atletico Madrid defender Guilherme Siqueira this summer, according to Madrid-based daily AS.

Atletico Madrid are on the brink of signing Filipe Luis back from Chelsea this summer and he is expected to be Diego Simeone’s first choice left-back for the coming season.

In the given circumstances, Siqueira is surplus to requirements at the Vicente Calderon and the 2014 Spanish champions are eager to offload the Brazilian this summer.

Juventus have emerged as leading contenders to land the defender ahead of fellow Serie A rivals AC Milan as the Old Lady attempt to strengthen their ranks for the 2015/16 season.

Last season, former Manchester United defender Patrice Evra manned the left side of the Old Lady’s defence and the acquisition of Siqueira will give manager Massimiliano Allegri more options in defence.
