Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger doesn’t feel Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard is yet at the level of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The Belgian was one of the key architects of Chelsea’s title winning campaign last season and made a clean sweep of the Player of the Year awards in England.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho recently compared Hazard with Messi and Ronaldo and said that he also believes the Belgian is better than the Portuguese on the basis of last season because he helped his team to win trophies.

However, Wenger thinks otherwise and feels that the Belgian is yet to reach the same level of consistency that Messi and Ronaldo have been showing over recent seasons.

While the Frenchman admits that Hazard is a top player and has the ability to decide games on his own, he feels the Chelsea star is yet to perform at the level of Messi and Ronaldo.

“He can decide the games and you put the top players in this kind of calibre when they can decide the games with something special”, Wenger said in a press conference, via his club's site.

“Hazard is in this category, now to reach the other two or three that are dominating world football at the moment I think it demands consistency which he is still to do.

“It is all about opinions. You have to compare the numbers.

“I must say players like Messi and Ronaldo still score 50 goals and that is exceptional.”

Hazard might have the chance to prove Wenger wrong when Chelsea face Arsenal in the traditional curtain raiser of the season for the Community Shield on Sunday at Wembley.
