Arsene Wenger has stressed that he is not too keen to give too much credence to other people’s opinions about Arsenal’s transfer business.

The Frenchman has recently deviated from his conservative approach in the transfer market and has spent big in recent summers to sign Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has recently taken a jibe at Arsenal’s spending and said that the Gunners ought to challenge for the title after splashing the cash in recent transfer windows.

However, Wenger decided not to give too much importance to the Portuguese’s jibe and said that his team are not under any pressure to justify their spending.

He stressed that Arsenal are keen to do well next season and it is not because of the pressure of the amount of money they have spent but because they are hungry for success.

The Arsenal boss insisted that they are concentrating on playing well together on the football pitch and let ‘other people’ do the talking.

“We have more desire to do well than the pressure. We want to do well and we enjoy to play together”, Wenger said in a press conference, via his club's site.

“I think what you want is not to listen too much to what people say, because sometimes in the same week I get two different reproaches: one I don’t spend enough and one too much.

“I believe if you want to create success, which we want desperately, is to focus on inside and try to do as well as we can, believe in the football we want to play, play it as well as we can and let other people talk.”

Other than signing Petr Cech from Chelsea, Arsenal are yet to make any significant purchases this summer, but the Frenchman has revealed that he will splash the cash should he find the type of player he wants.
