Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is stepping up on his interest in Lucas Digne and is keen to sign the full-back from Paris Saint-Germain.

Digne is keen to leave the French champions this summer for more minutes on the pitch next season and has been in the sights of Liverpool for some time.

Rodgers wants to provide more competition to Alberto Moreno at left-back next season and is looking to bring in a new face to strengthen his full-back options.

Liverpool have been tracking the French full-back for a while and according to Canal Supporters, the Northern Irishman is pushing for a deal to take Digne to England this summer.

Discussions have taken place between the club and the player’s representatives, but the Reds are yet to place a formal offer on PSG’s table.

PSG are open to selling the player this summer provided they can get a good price for him and can acquire a suitable replacement.

However, with no offers on their table for Digne so far, the club are also toying with the idea keeping hold of the Frenchman beyond the summer.

Digne made just 24 appearances in all competitions for PSG last season and is desperate to play more football ahead of next summer’s European Championship.
