Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement with Galatasaray for the signature of left-back Alex Telles, it has been claimed.

The Blues are looking for a full-back this summer as Felipe Luis is close to returning to his old club Atletico Madrid.

While Augsburg’s Baba Rahman has been closely followed, Chelsea are also claimed to be after the signature of Galatasaray left-back Telles.

According to Sky Italia, the Blues are in advanced negotiations with the Turkish giants and are close to reaching an agreement with them for the signature of the 22-year-old.

A product of Brazilian outfit Juventude, Telles joined Galatasaray from Gremio in January last year and has established himself as one of the most important members of their squad.

While he didn’t start the 2014/15 campaign as their first choice left-back, Telles made the position his own as the season rumbled on and finished with 36 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray.

Inter and Juventus were also claimed to be keen on Telles, but it seems Chelsea are on the verge of winning the race for the 22-year-old.

Telles still has a contract until 2018 with Galatasaray.
