Gary Neville has urged Manchester United to keep hold of Angel di Maria if a report of the club being offered just £28.5m by Paris Saint-Germain for the winger is correct.

Manchester United paid a British transfer record fee of £59.7m to take Di Maria to Old Trafford from Real Madrid last summer, beating PSG to the Argentine's signature.

But PSG are back at the door for Di Maria, who failed to link up with his Manchester United team-mates in the United States at the weekend as planned amid talk that his switch to the Parc des Princes is all but done.

It has been reported by social network BreatheSport that PSG have offered just £28.5m to Manchester United for Di Maria. And Neville says if that is the case then the Red Devils must hold onto the Argentine.

Neville wrote on the social network in response: "I'd keep him if that's true!!"

Di Maria struggled to live up to expectations at Old Trafford last season, showing only glimpses of his best in a Manchester United shirt.

He is claimed to be keen to move to PSG, who can now afford his wages and transfer fee due to UEFA relaxing its financial fair play rules earlier this summer.

And Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is unsure whether Di Maria will stay at the club, while PSG boss Laurent Blanc has cut a confident figure over the Argentine's arrival at the Parc des Princes.
