Erik Lamela is unlikely to make the switch from Tottenham Hotspur to FC Porto this summer, according to Portuguese daily O Jogo.

The Argentine winger has so far failed to justify his significant price tag in his two seasons at Tottenham and there has been speculation that he could be on his way out of White Hart Lane this summer.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for the 23-year-old, but there are rumours that Porto are serious about taking Lamela to Portugal ahead of the new season.

The club are said to be in negotiations with Tottenham and are reportedly close to agreeing a loan deal with the right to make Lamela’s move permanent for a fee of around €7.5m.

However, it has been claimed that the speculation is baseless and Lamela is unlikely to move to the Dragao in a shock move away from north London.

Thought Porto have a interest, it is unlikely they would be able to convince the Premier League side to part with the talented Argentine winger this summer.

Lamela joined Tottenham in the summer of 2013 from Roma for a fee of around €30m.

He has made 63 appearances for Tottenham and still has three years left on his contract with the club.
