Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is tipped to put pen to paper on a two-year contract with French giants Marseille later today.

The 29-year-old was released by Arsenal at the end of last season, but despite being afflicted by continuing injury issues has not chosen to retire and will continue his career in his homeland.

According to French outlet Maxifoot, Diaby is expected to sign a two-year contact at the Stade Velodrome later today which will be based on a low fixed salary, but significant bonuses if he plays for the club.

Marseille are keen to guard against Diaby continuing with his injury problems and being sidelined on a lucrative contract.

The midfielder has had a number of offers this summer, including a proposal from Premier League side West Brom, which would have allowed him to remain in the English top flight.
