Las Palmas have stressed that they are not going to sell Celtic linked forward Sergio Araujo this summer.

The Argentine forward has attracted keen attention with his performances last season, where he scored 24 goals to help Las Palmas earn promotion to La Liga via the playoff route.

Scottish champions Celtic are said to be keen to take the forward away from the La Liga new boys this summer, but Palermo are the ones who are showing real intent to land the 23-year-old.

The Serie A side are flush with cash after selling Paulo Dybala to Juventus and have reportedly made a bid of around €18m for Araujo to prise him away from Las Palmas.

However, Miguel Angel Ramirez, the Las Palmas president, have insisted that the forward is not for sale and indicated that he is ready to reject big money offers to keep the Argentine at the club.

Speaking to AS, the club president said: “It is true that we are talking about a lot of money, but we do not want to jeopardise our project with Sergio Araujo.

“Therefore, he will not be sold.”

A product of Boca Juniors, Araujo had loan spells at Barcelona B, Tigre and Las Palmas, before signing a permanent contract with the Canary Islands side earlier this summer.

The 23-year-old has also played at youth level for Argentina, but is yet to make the grade for the senior team.
