Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches has arrived in Italy accompanied by one of his representatives.

The Romanian centre-back, who has knocked back a proposal from Galatasaray in recent days, is all set to join Serie A side Napoli.

Chiriches was also wanted by Fiorentina, who offered Tottenham a fee of €1.5m to sign Chiriches on loan for the season with a further €5.5m to come if they opted to keep him permanently.

But Napoli have seen off interest from La Viola and the former Steaua Bucharest man is due to join the Azzurri to bolster coach Maurizio Sarri's options at the back.

According to Italian broadcaster Sportitalia, this evening Chiriches arrived in Milan with a representative.

He has landed in Italy to put the final touches to a move away from White Hart Lane and will hope to play regular first team football next term with Napoli.

Tottenham signed Chiriches from Steaua Bucharest in the summer of 2013, but the defender struggled to make an impact and hold down a regular starting spot. He now appears to have been deemed surplus to requirements by coach Mauricio Pochettino.
