Villarreal coach Marcelino Garcia Toral admits that his club will find it hard to sign Roberto Soldado from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 30-year-old forward has gradually fallen out of favour at Tottenham and the club are said to be keen to offload him this summer.

Signed from Valencia in 2013 for €30m, the forward has done very little of note at White Hart Lane to justify his price tag and scored a paltry five goals in 40 appearances all competitions last season.

Sevilla are said to be keen to take the forward back to Spain this summer, but are willing to wait to drive down his price further.

Villarreal are also seemingly interested in the player, but Toral admits any deal to take Soldado to the Madrigal would be a complicated one.

When asked about the possibility of signing Soldado, the Villarreal coach was quoted as saying by Marca: “It is going to be difficult.

“He is in a great team who paid a substantial amount two years ago for his transfer.”

Soldado is also believed to be keen to find the exit door at Tottenham as in the presence of Harry Kane, he is unlikely to find a slot in the starting eleven next season.

The forward still has two years left on his contract with the north London side.
