West Ham are going toe-to-toe with Turkish champions Galatasaray for former FC Twente defender Douglas.

The 27-year-old currently plies his trade in Russia with Dynamo Moscow, having joined the capital club from Twente in 2013.

Now the Brazil-born defender, who holds a Dutch passport from his time in the Netherlands, is attracting interest which may lead to a potential summer move.

According to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, both West Ham and Galatasaray are chasing Douglas and hoping to tempt him from Dynamo Moscow.

Both clubs are eyeing bringing in another central defender and Galatasaray notably tried and failed recently to persuade Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Vlad Chiriches to move to Turkey.

Dynamo Moscow are claimed to be ready to consider parting with Douglas for the right price.

Douglas has made a total of 52 appearances for Dynamo Moscow since he made the move from the Netherlands to Russia two years ago, also chipping in with three goals.

The defender is eligible to play international football for the Netherlands and has been called up by the Oranje, but is still to make his debut.
