AC Milan are ready to press the accelerator in their chase for Arsenal linked defender Alessio Romagnoli.

The Rossoneri have tabled a bid of around €25m for the young Italian defender and have stressed that their current bid is also their last offer to Roma.

The Giallorossi are holding out for a figure close to the €30m mark and have also been in negotiations with Arsenal regarding a potential deal that would see Romagnoli move to north London.

However, AC Milan remain quietly confident of taking the 20-year-old from Roma and according to Gazzetta dello Sport, they are set to step up on their interest in him after they return from their pre-season tour next month.

Rossoneri coach Sinisa Mihajlovic is confident that the defender will only leave Roma for AC Milan and the 20-year-old himself is claimed to be keen on a move to the San Siro.
