Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Helder Postiga has signed for Indian Super League champions Atletico de Kolkata.

The 32-year-old Portuguese international joins the Kolkata-based club as their marquee player for the second season of the Indian Super League.

A statement on the club’s Facebook page read: “Helder Postiga just signed as Atletico de Kolkata's marquee player for ISL Season 2.”

Postiga, who came up through the ranks at Portuguese club FC Porto, joined Spurs as a 20-year-old in the summer of 2003, but swiftly made his return to his former club after a single season at White Hart Lane.

The striker replaces ex-Liverpool midfielder Luis Garcia as Atletico de Kolkata’s marquee signing for the 2015 season.
