Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has said that he expects Manchester United linked Thomas Muller to retire at the Allianz Arena outfit and ultimately become part of the club in some capacity after the end of his playing career.

Muller’s Bayern Munich and Germany international team-mate Bastian Schweinsteiger has moved to Old Trafford this summer and the forward has been linked with a similar move to Old Trafford.

However, Red Devils’ boss Louis van Gaal’s advances haven’t come to fruition and Muller has stayed put at the Allianz Arena outfit thus far.

The 2014 World Cup winner joined the Bavarian giants as a youngster in 2000 and has progressed through the ranks to become an indispensable member of the first team.

And Rummenigge has said that he expects the 25-year-old to retire at the club.

“I have a feeling Thomas will never leave FC Bayern”, the CEO was quoted as saying by German magazine Sport Bild.

The former Germany international further added that he would like to see Muller become part of the club set-up post his playing days, as he himself has done.

“Once his playing days are over, we would like him to remain involved with the club.”
