Arsenal linked striker Edinson Cavani has stressed that he wants to respect his contract with Paris Saint-Germain.

Cavani’s future at the club has been the subject of speculation and a number of clubs have been linked with a move for the forward.

The English duo of Arsenal and Manchester United are tipped to be interested in the player and are believed to be plotting to take him to the Premier League this summer.

However, Cavani has maintained that he is not thinking about a move away from PSG during the current transfer window.

While he did air his grievances about being played out of position last season, the forward admits that he could have avoided making such statements. He also added that the club are more aware of what he wants to excel in the French capital.

“Listen, I said many things last season which could have been avoided”, Cavani told L’Equipe.

“What I can say today that the club know what my goals are and what my thinking is, that is the most important thing.”

Cavani insisted that he wants to stay at PSG and confirmed that he has spoken to the club about his future plans, which he declined to divulge.

“I have a contract with PSG that I have to respect and I have always said that I feel very happy in Paris.

“I just spoke to the club, but I don’t feel like talking about the details.”

Cavani scored 31 goals in all competitions last season and has a contract until 2018 with PSG.
