Bologna CEO Claudio Fenucci has revealed that Mario Balotelli would have to lower his wage demands in order to join the Serie A new boys.

The Rossoblu achieved promotion to the Italian top flight last season through the playoff route in Serie B and are looking to add an experienced forward to their ranks.

The club are eyeing a move for the Liverpool forward and their sporting director, Pantaleo Corvino, said yesterday that for the right price, Bologna are interested in signing the player.

The club CEO also confirmed their interest, but stressed that the Liverpool forward would have to lower his salary demands before they make a move for him this summer.

“If Balotelli lowers his demands, then we would be ready to discuss”, Claudio Fenucci told Italian daily Corriere dello Sport.

“His ambitions won’t match with ours, but if he reduces his salary demands, we would be all over him.

“It is in our and all the clubs' interest to recover this player.”

The 24-year-old joined the Reds from AC Milan last summer, but failed to make his mark for a side who were desperately looking for someone to bang in the goals for them last season.

Brendan Rodgers’ decision to omit him from this pre-season touring party signaled the club’s interest in offloading him, but Liverpool are appearing to find it difficult to find buyers for Balotelli because of his wage demands.
