Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has stressed the importance of blooding young talents in the first team, as he took positives from his side's pre-season friendly defeat earlier today.

Pochettino oversaw Spurs’ 2-1 defeat to MLS All-Stars in Colorado, while giving first team minutes to academy products Johua Onomah, Shaq Coulthirst, Harry Winks and Luke McGee as well as new summer arrival Dele Alli.




Despite the loss, the Argentine has remained positive about the experience gained by the youngsters by playing against the likes of World Cup winners like David Villa and Kaka.

"It’s a great experience for the young players and again, there are a lot of positive things to take from that", said Pochettino to his club’s official website.
 


The 43-year-old has emphasised the importance of the youngsters playing in the first team, and has talked them up as the future of the club.

"It’s important for them to be involved in the first team because I think they are the future of the club”, he added.

The north London club will head to Munich for their final pre-season friendly against Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Spurs start their 2015/16 Premier League campaign with a difficult away trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on the 8th of August.
