Arsenal are set to follow up the loaning of Isaac Hayden to Hull City by also sending striker Chuba Akpom on loan to the KC Stadium.

Hull confirmed earlier today that they have taken Hayden, who can play in defence or in midfield, on loan from Arsenal for the entire forthcoming campaign.

And according to the BBC, Akpom is all set to join Hayden at the Championship club.

Akpom recently scored a hat-trick for the Gunners in a pre-season game against a Singapore XI and it had been thought Gunners boss Arsene Wenger would not look to loan him out.

However, the 19-year-old now seems set to continue his career under Steve Bruce in the Championship next season.

Wenger will be hoping that Akpom can increase his first team experience at the KC Stadium as Hull hunt promotion to the Premier League.

Akpom has had a series of previous loan spells, spending time at Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.

And Wenger will want both Akpom and Hayden to play week in, week out with the Tigers.
