Liverpool midfielder Emre Can feels that he can put the disappointment of this summer's European Under-21 Championship behind him by giving his 100 per cent for the club and looking to come away with something positive.

Can, who was part of the German Under-21 side in the Czech Republic, was witness to the humiliating 5-0 loss that his side suffered at the hands of Portugal in the semi-finals of the tournament.

While disappointed with the outcome, Can feels that he can make up for it by playing his part in assisting his club team to a successful 2015/16 season.

Replying to a question on whether he can make up for the disappointment in the Czech Republic, the youngster told his club's official website: "I think I can do.

"Liverpool take no rivals lightly and we know we have to be 100 per cent engaged throughout every match and we have to learn from each match we play and take away something positive."

In order to make the vision possible, Can very well knows that he will have to first try and become a first team regular, and the 21-year-old insists that he is ready to play whatever role he is offered.

However, as far his own preferences are concerned, Can insists that he would be keen on a midfield role.

"The most important thing is I feature in the games for Liverpool – that's my number one intention.

"A midfield role is preferable; of course it is the manager who decides who plays where.

"We'll see where he chooses to play me this season. It is up to the manager but my preference is midfield."
