West Brom have officially announced the signing of striker Rickie Lambert from Liverpool, with the player having passed a medical earlier today.

Lambert, who Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers snapped up from Southampton last summer as part of a £100m plus spending spree, has penned a two-year deal with the Baggies to keep him at the Hawthornes until the summer of 2017.

The striker has taken the number 17 shirt with West Brom and will be aiming to enjoy the regular first team football which eluded him at Anfield as he bids to push for a spot in Roy Hodgson's England squad for Euro 2016.

Lambert has quickly been welcomed by West Brom manager Tony Pulis, who believes he is an excellent addition and is relishing the chance to work with the striker.

Pulis told his club's site: "Rickie is a good, strong, solid player who is a great character, good in the dressing room and good on the pitch.

"We are very pleased to have him on board", the former Stoke manager continued.

"He's a player of great pedigree and we look forward to integrating him into our squad."

Lambert has instantly been added to West Brom's squad for a friendly against Bristol Rovers this evening.
