Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma has said that the Blues are ready for their Community Shield clash against Arsenal, adding that clashes against the Gunners are never small affairs.

Jose Mourinho’s side were crowned the Premier League champions last season thereby winning their first league title in five years and Arsene Wenger’s side won the FA Cup after defeating Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa 4-0 in the final at Wembley in May.

The two London outfits are set to contest the Community Shield this Sunday at Wembley and Zouma is relishing the prospect of facing the Gunners.

“We are ready”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

“We have a few days to recover and prepare ourselves and we have to be ready for this game.”

The France international further added that playing against Arsenal is always a big occasion as it is a derby and since there is a trophy at stake, it gives the match an added significance.

“Playing against Arsenal is never a small game.

“It is a derby and it is for a trophy and we want to win everything, and that begins with this game.”

Arsenal won the Community Shield last year after they defeated Manchester City. Chelsea will be keen to secure the trophy this Sunday.
